#1 – From WDTV – Fairmont eatery to appear on national restaurant show

A Fairmont restaurant is preparing for the national spotlight after being selected to appear on “America’s Best Restaurants.”

The ABR Roadshow is coming to Jag Beer Burger Bowery on May 26 to highlight popular dishes and interview owner Pat Mascaro. Supporters say the recognition reflects the growing visibility of West Virginia’s food scene and the local businesses helping define it.

#2 – From YAHOO! – Historic WV hot dog stand earns national attention

A longtime West Virginia drive-in restaurant is being recognized for serving one of the state’s favorite comfort foods — the classic hot dog.

Stewart’s Original Hot Dogs has been serving up its award-winning hot dogs, hamburgers, chili cheese fries and hand-dipped ice cream since 1932. The family-owned Huntington establishment takes nostalgia to the next level, even shipping its famous dogs across the globe.

#3 – From WV EXPLORER – Mon Forest draws gravel bikepacking enthusiasts

Outdoor recreation continues expanding in West Virginia as gravel bikepacking gains popularity in the Monongahela National Forest.

Cyclists are exploring remote mountain routes, scenic overlooks, and backcountry terrain throughout the forest, combining adventure travel with multi-day camping experiences. Tourism leaders say gravel cycling is helping introduce new visitors to West Virginia’s outdoor economy and natural beauty.
