1 – From WV NEWS – Training series prepares businesses for new opportunities
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office is launching a four-part training series designed to help entrepreneurs compete for supplier, corporate, and government contracting opportunities.
Beginning in August, the hybrid program in Fairmont will guide participants through developing capability statements, identifying target markets, strengthening business pitches, and preparing for supplier matchmaking events. Officials say the training will help West Virginia companies become more competitive while opening doors to new markets and long-term growth.
2 – From WV ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – PowerFlo expands advanced manufacturing in West Virginia
PowerFlo Solutions is investing $20 million to establish advanced manufacturing operations in Wood County, creating at least 120 new full-time jobs.
The company will manufacture critical electrical infrastructure supporting data centers, artificial intelligence, and other energy-intensive industries. State leaders say the investment strengthens West Virginia’s growing advanced manufacturing sector while reinforcing the state’s position as a destination for next-generation industrial development.
3 – From WVUToday – WVU and Johns Hopkins launch research partnership
West Virginia University and Johns Hopkins University are joining forces through a new research partnership focused on solving shared challenges.
The collaboration will bring together researchers from both institutions to advance discoveries in areas including health, engineering, data science, and emerging technologies. University leaders say the partnership combines complementary expertise while expanding research opportunities, attracting talent, and accelerating innovation with real-world impact.
