1 – From WV SBDC – Childcare business fills a community need
When Amber Comer saw a growing need for childcare in Fayette County, she turned her vision into reality with help from the West Virginia Small Business Development Center.
After expanding from a home-based daycare to the Lively Little Ones Early Learning Center in Fayetteville, Comer now provides care and early education for children from six weeks to 12 years old. Working with the WV SBDC, she developed a business plan, secured financing, and opened the area’s only childcare center. Business leaders say quality childcare is essential to helping parents participate in the workforce while supporting economic growth across West Virginia.
2 – From THE REAL WV – Lewisburg restaurant honors made-from-scratch tradition
A new restaurant in Lewisburg is carrying on one of the community’s best traditions—fresh, handcrafted food made from scratch.
Our Thyme Tavern blends locally inspired cuisine with warm hospitality, adding another destination to one of West Virginia’s most celebrated culinary communities. The restaurant reflects the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to strengthen downtown Lewisburg while giving residents and visitors another reason to explore one of the state’s premier small-town dining destinations.
3 – From WV NEWS – Doddridge County Park offers outdoor adventure
From hiking and camping to fishing, kayaking, swimming, and disc golf, Doddridge County Park offers something for every outdoor enthusiast.
Located near West Union, the more than 250-acre park features miles of trails, a campground, sports facilities, playgrounds, and year-round recreation opportunities. Community leaders say the park has become both a favorite destination for local families and a growing attraction for visitors exploring north-central West Virginia.
