#1 – From WVDEP / REAP – Annual Adopt-A-Highway Fall Cleanup Set for Sept. 27

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) and the Division of Highways are now accepting registrations for the statewide Adopt-A-Highway Fall Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 27. Volunteers (12+) can sign up by Sept. 17 to volunteer on state (non-interstate) roads—equipment like bags, gloves, and vests are provided. Last year’s efforts removed over 215,000 pounds of litter.

#2 – From Record Delta / WVNews – Buckhannon Announces Small Business Start-Up Grant Program

The City of Buckhannon has launched a new grant program to support small business startups: offering funding, coaching, and local support to uplift West Virginia entrepreneurs and stimulate community growth.

#3 – From WTRF News – WV Restaurant Receives $50,000 from National Trust for Historic Preservation

A beloved West Virginia restaurant has gained a $50,000 preservation grant from the National Trust—an investment aimed at maintaining its historical character, supporting community heritage, and ensuring the venue remains a landmark for generations to come. The restaurant, Later Alligator in Wheeling, specializes in crepes, soups and salads, and hot panini.
