#1 – From WV EXPLORER – Arts Residency Launches in the Heart of the New River Gorge

The town of Fayetteville is ushering in a fresh creative era with “Fayetteville Creates,” a month-long artist residency that will bring painters, writers, photographers, musicians and chefs to stay and work in the scenic New River Gorge region. Organizers say the project, beginning in January 2026, will turn the town into a living art studio — combining Appalachia’s dramatic landscapes with creative energy and tourism opportunities.

#2 – From WV NEWS – Nucor’s Steel Mill Build in Mason County Set to Transform Local Economy

The Nucor steel-mill project in Mason County is moving forward, with construction well underway and operations expected in the coming years. Once complete, the facility is projected to bring full-time jobs, supply-chain activity, housing demand and a boost for the region’s infrastructure and tax base. It stands as one of West Virginia’s most consequential industrial developments in recent years — a reminder that manufacturing and heavy industry are still very much part of the Mountain State’s future economy.

#3 – From FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD – Federal Reserve Survey Reaches Rural Business Communities

Small businesses and rural entrepreneurs in West Virginia are being asked to weigh in on economic conditions through a national survey conducted by the Federal Reserve Board. This is more than just data-gathering — it’s an opportunity for local business owners to share their experience on credit, staffing, growth, and regional challenges, helping shape policy and support programs. If you own a business or run a start-up in West Virginia’s rural counties, this is your moment to be heard and influence the future of economic support.
