#1 – From WVDNR – Eyes in the Sky: Drone Program Takes WVDNR to New Heights
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Natural Resources Police Officers launched a drone program to tackle the long-standing difficulty of estimating black bear damage to crops. Previously, NRPOs had to spend an entire day walking cornfields to find and measure crop damage, often missing significant areas. The success of this initial use led the WVDNR to invest in a fleet of drones, creating a versatile, statewide program that saves time and money.
