#2 – From WVBDB.COM – WV Bridge Design & Build Contest Inspires Future Engineers
West Virginia’s next generation of engineers is invited to compete in the WV Bridge Design & Build Contest, open to all students in grades 6–12 — public, private, or homeschool. Students first design a virtual bridge using official Bridge Design software, aiming to create the most cost-effective structure that passes a simulated load test. Top participants advance to the Finals, where they’ll build a real balsa-wood bridge and compete for cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500. It’s a hands-on experience combining creativity, STEM learning, and West Virginia pride — building both bridges and bright futures.
