The West Virginia Mine Wars Museum is leading a community-driven effort to install a new historic marker recognizing events connected to the Mine Wars. Museum leaders say the project brings together local residents, historians and descendants to ensure the stories of workers, families and communities are remembered for future generations.
The initiative reflects a growing interest in preserving West Virginia’s labor history while encouraging thoughtful conversations about the people and events that helped shape the Mountain State.
#2 – From WVU TECH – WVU Tech inspires tomorrow’s STEM leaders
A new grant is opening doors for the next generation of scientists and engineers.
WVU Tech has received funding through the Health Sciences and Technology Academy, or HSTA, to host hands-on STEM camps for middle and high school students. The camps will introduce participants to engineering, robotics, computer science and other high-demand career fields while encouraging them to pursue higher education in science and technology.
The program reflects WVU Tech’s commitment to building West Virginia’s future workforce by giving students early exposure to exciting career opportunities.
