1 – From WOWK-TV – Veteran-owned businesses earn statewide recognition
West Virginia is officially launching its new Certified Veteran-Owned Business Program, giving veteran entrepreneurs a way to showcase their businesses while making it easier for consumers to support them.
The program, administered by the Secretary of State’s Office, recognizes businesses that are at least 51 percent veteran-owned. State leaders say the initiative honors military service while encouraging entrepreneurship and helping veteran-owned companies grow. West Virginia is the 15th state to establish a certified veteran-owned business program.
2 – From WV PRESS ASSOCIATION – Charleston caregiver receives national honor
A Charleston caregiver is receiving national recognition for making an extraordinary difference in the lives of others.
Tiffany Moon, a caregiver with Visiting Angels in Charleston, has been named the company’s 2026 National Caregiver of the Year after being selected from more than 100 nominations nationwide. In addition to providing exceptional care for clients, Moon has mentored nearly 100 fellow caregivers during her career. Leaders say her compassion and dedication reflect the very best of West Virginia’s caring spirit.
