The University of Charleston’s Downtown Innovation Hub is accepting applications for its Business Accelerator Program, a three-month initiative designed to help established businesses scale for long-term success. Participants receive expert coaching, mentorship, peer networking and practical business tools to overcome growth challenges and strengthen their companies.
The grant-funded program is offered at no cost to qualifying businesses and reflects UC’s commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth across West Virginia.
#2 – From WV SBDC – Resources for every stage of business
Starting a business is challenging. Growing one can be even harder.
The West Virginia Small Business Development Center provides entrepreneurs with one-on-one business coaching, market research, financial planning, export assistance, succession planning and other services designed to help businesses launch, grow and thrive.
With experienced business coaches serving communities across the state, the WV SBDC continues helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into successful companies while strengthening local economies throughout Almost Heaven.

#3 – From WV ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – West Virginia companies reach the world
West Virginia products are making an impact around the globe.
Thirty-four Mountain State companies were honored during the 2026 Governor’s Export Awards for expanding into new international markets. Together, the companies earned 130 awards representing exports to 75 countries, demonstrating the growing global competitiveness of West Virginia manufacturing, technology, agriculture and professional services. State leaders say international trade continues creating jobs, expanding business opportunities and strengthening the state’s economy.
