#1 – From CLAY COUNTY FREE PRESS – WV Manufacturing Needs Grow: Nearly 7,000 Jobs Over Three Years
A recent statewide survey by the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center in collaboration with the West Virginia Manufacturers Association found that manufacturers in West Virginia will need an estimated 2,700 additional full-time workers in the next 12 months and nearly 7,000 over the next three years. Roles cited include production/operators, laborers/logistics, quality-assurance testers, maintenance technicians, machinists and welders. Because of the demand for these jobs, MAMC has partnered with regional manufacturers and local community colleges to offer new skills programs.

West Virginia’s First Lady, Denise Morrisey invites students and artisans to compete in the inaugural gingerbread house competition, celebrating creativity across the state. Classrooms, homeschool groups, adult creators and artisan makers are eligible. Winners will be awarded art-supply certificates and State Parks gift cards.
