#2 – From WV GAZETTE-MAIL – Vandalia Gathering celebrates Appalachian culture

Thousands of visitors gathered recently at the State Capitol for the annual Vandalia Gathering celebrating Appalachian music, art, crafts, and heritage.

The annual festival features traditional music performances, storytelling, dance, artisan demonstrations, and food reflecting West Virginia’s deep cultural traditions. Organizers say the event continues serving as one of the state’s premier celebrations of Appalachian identity and community connection.

#3 – From WV NEWS – Appalachian Film Nights spotlights storytelling

The Central WV Hearthouse presents “Appalachian Film Nights.” The event, which takes place June 18 and 19 at the Hearthouse Microcinema in Weston, will screen the local documentaries “O Pioneer” and “Fasnach.”

The program features independent films, documentaries, and regional storytelling projects highlighting Appalachian culture, creativity, and lived experiences. Supporters say events like these help strengthen local arts communities while giving audiences opportunities to connect through film and storytelling.
