HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Mountwest Community & Technical College is proud to announce the launch of its new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program, designed to prepare students for rewarding entry-level healthcare careers in just 10 weeks.
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with clinical sessions held during the second half of the program on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program provides hands-on training in patient care, safety procedures, and communication skills to prepare students for employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health settings.
“There is huge demand for Certified Nursing Assistants in our area and this program will not only help fill that gap but also gives students the opportunity to grow and advance within the healthcare field,” said Rebecca Shalash, Instructor of Allied Health.
Upon successful completion of the CNA program, students will be eligible to take the West Virginia state certification exam. Classes begin on January 27th and financial assistance is also available for those who qualify.
