#1 – From WCHS-TV – America250 mural grants available for every county
The America250 Mural Project is offering each of West Virginia’s 55 counties a $5,000 grant to commission hand-painted murals that celebrate both local stories and America’s 250th anniversary. The project is a collaboration of the West Virginia Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts.

#2 – From WV OUTDOOR ECONOMY – Register for the Outdoor Economy Summit
West Virginia’s outdoor economy is gaining steam as recreation, trails and outdoor-industry jobs become more central to the state’s economic strategy. The Brad & Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative (Smith OEDC) and others are helping map this future through community development, infrastructure and talent-attraction programs. Register now for the summit, set for Feb.17-19 in Charleston.

The horror-thriller “Self‑Help” was filmed in and around the Huntington, West Virginia area—including landmarks like the Pumpkin House in Kenova and downtown Huntington—and highlights local crews, locations and the creative economy. Check out the Q&A with one of the film’s producers.
