Five entrepreneurs from Southern West Virginia have been awarded cash prizes, technical-assistance packages and potential growth pathways in the latest WV Hive “Pitch Southern West Virginia” competition, held at Concord University. The first-place winner, JarHead Kitchens of Monroe County, secured $3,500 in cash and $6,500 in technical help. The competition underscores the region’s momentum in entrepreneurship and business innovation.
#3 – From WV NEWS – West Virginia women hunters embrace tradition, conservation & community
As the 2025 buck-firearms season opens, women hunters across West Virginia are stepping up—blending heritage, conservation and community giving. From Burnsville to smaller rural counties, female hunters are participating at increasing rates, serving both sport and stewardship roles in the Mountain State’s hunting culture.
