#3 – From WV ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – West Virginia manufacturing combines skilled workers with global opportunity
From automotive components and advanced metals to chemicals and consumer products, West Virginia manufacturers are producing goods used across the country and around the world.
The West Virginia Division of Economic Development highlights manufacturing as one of the state’s key industries, supported by a skilled workforce, abundant natural resources and a strategic location near major markets.
Companies such as Toyota, Nucor, Procter & Gamble and Clorox are part of the state’s manufacturing landscape. Their operations demonstrate the range of products and industries that have established a presence in the Mountain State.
West Virginia also offers industrial parks, transportation infrastructure and research institutions that support manufacturing operations and business growth.
Another advantage is workforce stability. According to the Division of Economic Development, West Virginia has the nation’s lowest turnover rate in manufacturing-specific jobs.
Businesses considering a new location or expansion can connect with the Division’s industry consultants for help with site selection, business development and navigating local regulations.
