What began as one woman’s passion for fly fishing has grown into a thriving outdoor community.
After discovering fly fishing in 2013, Pamela Dunlap founded Women, Wine & Waders to create a welcoming environment where women could learn the sport, build confidence and connect with one another. Today, the organization offers casting clinics, guided adventures, retreats and educational programs throughout West Virginia and beyond.
With guidance from the West Virginia Small Business Development Center, Dunlap has grown the business while staying true to its mission: helping women discover the joy of the outdoors, build lasting friendships and experience the beauty of Almost Heaven.

#2 – From WV STATE PARKS – State Parks serve up local flavor
West Virginia’s natural beauty isn’t the only thing drawing visitors to its state parks.
The West Virginia State Parks Farm-to-Table Dinner Series celebrates the state’s rich agricultural heritage by pairing locally sourced ingredients with chef-inspired menus in some of West Virginia’s most scenic settings. Hosted at parks across the Mountain State, each dinner showcases local farms, artisans and producers while giving guests a memorable dining experience surrounded by Almost Heaven. Seating is limited, and reservations are encouraged.
