Volga, W.Va. – Allegheny Metallurgical is ramping up hiring efforts and hosting a two-day job fair at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26.
Following its successful emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June, this job fair will be a key part of the metallurgical coal operation’s moves toward its next operational phase, which includes the longwall installation.
“At full operation, we will have close to 500 individuals,” stated Eric Lipinski, Chief Operating Officer at Allegheny Metallurgical. “This job fair will be an opportunity for potential employees to meet our team and be considered for a long-term, well-paying job right here in the heart of West Virginia.”
The company is actively hiring for a wide range of positions, such as Shearer Operators, Shield Technicians, Mechanics, Electricians, Miner Operators, Underground Production and Maintenance Supervisors, and more. Individuals interested in learning more are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and come prepared for potential on-site interviews.
“The next steps for Allegheny Metallurgical include installing the longwall mining equipment and bringing those operations online,” said Lipinski. “There is a lot of work to be done, and we are eager to meet candidates who want to join a company committed to safety, innovation, and excellence.”
Allegheny Metallurgical operates on a 28-day schedule in which individuals work 14 days and have 14 days off. Seven of the 14 days off will be consecutive. In addition, Allegheny Metallurgical offers a more traditional schedule with a steady day shift, running Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.
“In addition to benefits and competitive pay, we have a unique model here at Allegheny Metallurgical to help our employees maintain balance with their home lives,” noted Lipinski. “Our people work safe and work hard, and we want them to have the reward of enjoying time with their families, maximizing their time away from work.”
The Job Fair will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Bridgeport Conference Center. Allegheny Metallurgical invites skilled workers, veterans, and job seekers to attend and meet hiring managers in person.
“We pride ourselves on having a Team atmosphere”, continued Lipinski. “We are looking for people who want to ‘Find a Way to Win’ and continue to make this mine a safe, competitive, and efficient operation.”
