Mountwest and Point Pleasant River Museum to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

WHAT: Mountwest’s Maritime Academy and Point Pleasant River Museum are joining forces to offer Apprentice Mate and Radar Western River classes. Classes will be held at the Point Pleasant River Museum.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Point Pleasant River Museum (316 Main St. Point Pleasant, WV 25550)
WHY:  This partnership enhances maritime education and workforce training in Mason County, preparing students for rewarding careers while supporting the maritime industry.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin with remarks from Mountwest Maritime Director, Sherri Sowards, employer partners and other members of leadership.

Media are invited to attend and collect video footage and photos. On-site interviews can be arranged.
