1 – From METRO NEWS – Free shuttle links two signature celebrations
Visitors celebrating Independence Day in Charleston can leave the driving behind thanks to free shuttle service provided by the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority.
The shuttle connects the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta with the America250 Capital City Celebration at the State Capitol, making it easy for families to enjoy concerts, fireworks, attractions, and activities at both locations without worrying about parking or traffic. Organizers say the service helps visitors experience two of West Virginia’s biggest summer celebrations during one unforgettable holiday weekend.
2 – From WV SBDC – Cryptid Mountain Mini Golf celebrates WV folklore
West Virginia’s legendary creatures have found a new home at Cryptid Mountain Mini Golf in Morgantown.
With assistance from the West Virginia Small Business Development Center, the unique attraction combines family entertainment with Appalachian folklore, giving visitors the chance to putt alongside legendary creatures inspired by West Virginia myths and storytelling traditions. Supporters say creative attractions like this strengthen tourism while celebrating the state’s unique culture and entrepreneurial spirit.
3 – From WV TOURISM – America250 celebrates our nation’s story
Communities across West Virginia are marking America’s 250th anniversary with events that celebrate the nation’s history and the Mountain State’s role in shaping it.
The America250 initiative includes concerts, educational programs, historical exhibits, family activities, and community celebrations in all 55 counties. Organizers say the commemoration encourages West Virginians to reflect on the nation’s past while inspiring future generations through civic pride and shared history.
