#1 – From WV GOVERNOR – Rural health funding supports long-term transformation
Governor Patrick Morrisey has announced additional funding aimed at improving healthcare access across rural West Virginia.
The first $28.56 million in Rural Health Transformation funding will support workforce training, healthcare technology, and expanded care access through initiatives like the Mountain State Care Force and HealthTech Appalachia. State leaders say the investment is designed to strengthen healthcare systems while improving long-term outcomes for rural communities.
#2 – From WV PUBLIC BROADCASTING – W.Va. officials see value of long-distance trail project
Communities in north-central West Virginia are launching a new effort to improve trail conditions and outdoor access.
The National Road Heritage Corridor and seven local partner organizations have launched a major regional planning effort to unlock the community and economic potential of the Parkersburg to Pittsburg Corridor, also known as the P2P. Those promoting the project want to utilize the unified trail for more than its recreational attributes, emphasizing its larger impacts on health, the economy and local transportation.

#3 – From WV NEWS – West Virginia honors top small business leaders
West Virginia’s small business community is being recognized during National Small Business Week celebrations.
The U.S. Small Business Administration honored entrepreneurs from across the state for achievements in manufacturing, technology, rural business, veteran-owned businesses, and family-owned operations. Leaders say the awards reflect the important role small businesses continue to play in driving economic growth and innovation across West Virginia.
