#1 – From WV FORESTRY – WV spring fire season, burning restrictions return March 1
The start of West Virginia’s annual spring fire season on Saturday, March 1, marks the return of burning restrictions. #2 – From WVU – WVU selects Slate to drive enrollment excellence and operational alignment
West Virginia University is adopting Slate by Technolutions, a recruitment and admissions platform common in higher education, to help the University achieve essential enrollment goals, particularly growth in first-year and online student populations. Moving from the current Salesforce-based tool suite to Slate will simplify the WVU technology environment and reduce long-term operating costs through a predictable subscription model, officials say. The university expects to begin using Slate in the Fall of 2028.
#3 – From WV NEWS – 2026 Job Opportunity Expo coming to Charleston
West Virginia will host the 2026 Job Opportunity Expo in Charleston on March 9, bringing together job seekers and employers from a range of industries. The expo provides a platform for in-person networking, interview opportunities, and hiring across sectors — from technology and healthcare to skilled trades and services — aimed at connecting West Virginians with new career possibilities.
