A Keyser resident, rollins got his start humbly, writing poetry with his mother, who was going blind. And it was with his mother’s encouragement that Rollins pursued a career in songwriting, and while working with fellow songwriter Steve Nelson, he created two of the most famous songs of the holidays, “Frosty the Snowman” and “Here Comes Peter Cottontail.” Jack Rollins wrote songs covered by the greatest names of the 20th century and as America rose to prominence after World War II, he created uniquely American characters that feed our imagination.
