#1 – From WV GOVERNOR – Gov. Patrick Morrisey joins groundbreaking in Wheeling

Governor Patrick Morrisey joined local leaders and community partners in downtown Wheeling to celebrate the groundbreaking of the JC Lando redevelopment project. The $58.7 million transformational mixed-use development will feature a boutique hotel, private residences, dining, retail, conference space, and public gathering areas.

#2 – From WV EXPLORER – A New River Gorge landmark is looking for its next life

Built in 1935, the historic Coal Run Company Store in Cunard is up for sale. Located along a popular recreation corridor near the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, the 3,250-square-foot building features heavy timber framing, soaring ceilings, native stone foundations, and an attached apartment. Situated on over an acre of level land, the landmark offers plenty of space for parking and outdoor gatherings.

Listing agents say the building may qualify for National Register of Historic Places incentives, opening up opportunities for transformational uses such as a restaurant, craft brewery, outfitter, gallery, or private residence.
