WV Hits $9B in Tourism, New Swings and Gravel Trails

#1 – From WV Tourism / State Release – Tourism Tops $9 Billion

West Virginia’s tourism industry has crossed a major milestone—with more than $9 billion in annual economic impact for the first time. Across all nine travel regions, the growth was widespread and supported nearly 61,000 jobs statewide.  Also confirmed in external reporting: the state’s tourism spending rose 4.1% over the previous year.

#2 – From WV Explorer / WV Tourism – Autumn 2025: Almost Heaven Swings

West Virginia’s “Almost Heaven Swings” are back—and expanded. These handcrafted swings placed in high-view scenic locations offer beautiful vistas and photo moments among peak fall foliage. The state just added three new swing installations in Calhoun, Ritchie, and Wetzel counties. Plan an autumn road trip to check them out!

#3 – From WV News – Preston County Embraces Gravel Trails

Preston County is making moves to boost outdoor tourism by expanding its network of gravel trails. Local officials believe these trails will attract cyclists, hikers, and nature seekers—bringing new visitors and economic vitality to the region.
