Harrison County native named 72nd WVU Mountaineer Mascot

A Harrison County native has been selected as the 72nd official Mountaineer Mascot for West Virginia University. The Mountaineer mascot is a beloved tradition at WVU athletic events, symbolizing school pride, leadership, and the enduring spirit of the Mountaineer identity. Each year the role is awarded to a student who embodies the character and enthusiasm of the university and the Mountain State.

WV Girl Scouts to take global stage at United Nations summit

A group of Girl Scouts of the USA members from West Virginia is preparing to attend a summit at the United Nations, where they will represent the Mountain State while engaging with global leaders and youth advocates.
