#1 – From THE EDVENTURE GROUP – SparkWV celebrates young entrepreneurs

The 2026 SparkWV final competition showcased student entrepreneurs bringing new ideas and business concepts to life across West Virginia.

The statewide initiative encourages innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurship by giving young people opportunities to pitch business ideas and compete for support and recognition. Organizers say programs like SparkWV help build confidence, creativity, and workforce skills that can support the state’s future economy.

#2 – From TGKVF – Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation supports WV communities

The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation strengthens communities in a six-county region with outreach programs and partnerships.

The foundation helps individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits improve lives within the community now and for generations to come by assisting donors in creating charitable funds and providing grants to nonprofits that meet community needs.

#3 – From WV GOVERNOR – Elk River Trail expands, opens trail headquarters

Governor Patrick Morrisey recently celebrated the expansion of the Elk River Trail and the opening of a new trail visitor center in Clay County.

Officials say the project improves recreation access while supporting tourism, outdoor adventure, and economic development in the region. The Elk River Trail system continues attracting hikers, cyclists, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiasts exploring the state’s growing recreation economy.
